Having completed our first year of ministry at 21 Fellowship, a question begs attention: how do you measure success? How do we know if what we have done / are doing would be considered successful in the Lord’s eyes?
Success in the eyes of the world is very easy to measure. It usually consists of numbers, money, influence, and etc. But how does a church plant that after its first year has 25-30 people, none of which are affluent or influential, or important in the world’s eyes measure its success?
Rather than simply answering those questions, I will share with you a few bits and pieces of what the Lord has done in and through us thus far and let you make your own conclusions . . .
Last fall we organized and hosted countywide Patriot Day celebration in honor of the public servants of Madison County – with over 100 people in attendance, we introduced ourselves to the county as the church that cares.
Last Christmas we collected 100+ coats for the poor in the community through the “Coats for the Community” drive.
Last month we hosted the iPray4Midway event and initiated the movement of praying for our city.
Our family-integrated children’s ministry—Keepers of the Faith– is a combination of AWANA & Scouts. In its first year of ministry it has doubled in size and saw one young man (11 years old) give his life to the Lord.
Our Sunday morning messages were broadcasted throughout South and Central Texas in October of 2009 and April of 2010 over the KHCB radio network.
Visited every household in the 20-mile radius of the church sharing Christ and availing them of our church schedule.
